It's happening! Margaret Atwood is writing a sequel to ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’

With a new novel - and a new series - 2019 is set to be a great year for fans of 'The Handmaid's Tale'.

Margaret Atwood has confirmed she is writing a sequel to her hugely popular novel, The Handmaid's Tale, which inspired the TV series of the same name.

To be titled The Testaments, the new novel is due for release on 10 September 2019 by publisher .

In an announcement on Twitter, Atwood cited her fans’ passion as being behind her decision.
The Handmaid’s Tale was first published in 1985. Since the TV series launched in 2017, the novel spent 88 weeks back on .

2019 will be a big year for Handmaid's fans. In addition to the sequel novel's arrival,  will broadcast on SBS and stream at SBS On Demand.
