The artists of Eurovision 2017: Martina Bárta – “My Turn” (Czech Republic)

Will a more mature offering from the Czech Republic be able to connect with younger Eurovision fans?

In 2016, the Czech Republic made history by qualifying for its first ever appearance at a Eurovision grand final. It’s fantastic they’ve returned to the contest for another shot at making it to the main event. Their hopes lie in the hands of jazz vocalist and French horn player Martina Bárta, who will perform “My Turn”, a sophisticated adult contemporary number stylistically unlike anything else in this year’s contest.

The song's music video presents some clues as to the visually intriguing direction of the staging for “My Turn”, but potentially, the adult nature of the entry may turn off many of the younger viewers and voters.
