If you haven’t watched season one of The Handmaid’s Tale, you may as well have been walking around wearing one of those white, vision-limiting bonnets, blinded to one of the best TV series of all time. That’s right: Of. All. Time. It’s really that good.

The America we all know and tolerate has been overthrown in a bloody revolution that swept aside democracy and replaced it with some old fashioned religious fundamentalism. Men are in charge and women are kept firmly in line, with fertile women farmed out to the houses of the elite in the hope that they will bear children for them. It’s pretty grim, but also thrilling, depressing, inspiring, shocking and brilliant.

But don’t just take our word for it, or, you know, the avalanche of awards and critical acclaim showered upon its cast and crew, including Elisabeth Moss as Offred, the titular Handmaid. Find out for yourself by bingeing The Handmaid’s Tale ahead of the debut of its second season on 26 April.

Or perhaps you did watch the greatest drama of recent years when it debuted in 2017 and want to refresh your memory before diving into season two. Either way, all 10 episodes of season one are available now on SBS On Demand. Don’t make us get the cattle prod out – press play and start streaming now:

The Handmaid's Tale returns Thursday 26 April at 8:30pm. Season one continues to stream at SBS On Demand, with new episodes added as they go to air.
