Early reviews are in for SBS Australia's upcoming drama Safe Harbour, and many critics are transfixed by the mystery at the heart of this very modern psychological thriller. The four-part Safe Harbour premieres on SBS Australia on Wednesday 7 March at 8.30pm.

Safe Harbour is gripping and profound.”

“An unsparing portrayal of the human condition.”

- Justin Burke, The Australian

---

"Certain to be one of the Australian TV events of the year. Intelligent, deeply compelling, very well acted, full of interesting connections. Never takes an incendiary or black and white position; this is a series that acknowledges and explores the greys in life."

- Luke Buckmaster, The Guardian

---

“Bold and provocative, but also a very human story. Safe Harbour is a remarkable achievement.”

“A confident, complex story about flawed humans. It bristles with fantastic performances.”

Safe Harbour charts a course for turbulent waters and the intensity never lets up for a moment. Brilliant.”

- TV WEEK

 ---

"The first episode is intensely gripping from the opening moments, and features some superb performances, especially from two of the lesser-known cast, Hazem Shammas and Nicole Chamoun."

- Clare Rigden, News Corp

The four-part drama concerns the tragic consequences of a dramatic sea rescue, when a group of friends on the sailing holiday of a lifetime encounter a distressed boatload of asylum seekers. They vow to tow the boat to land, only to wake the following morning to discover that someone has cut the rope and set the refugees adrift.
