Yujia Hu is a 28-year-old chef and illustrator based in Milan, Italy. His day job is working as a sushi chef at Sakana Sushi in Milan. But his passion project is creating little edible shoes from sushi ingredients, inspired by his love of basketball.

Hu uses mainly sushi rice, seaweed, rish and sesame seeds in making his creations, and shares photos of them on .

His work covers a range of brands and styles, and each takes about 20 to 30 minutes to make.

"I actually went to an art school, but then I interrupted my studies because I had to work for myself and learn how to make sushi from a master sushi chef at only 18 years old," he tells .

"I began creating onigiri art, at first, just for fun, but then I started being very passionate about it and love what I am doing."
The NBA fan has also created onigiris representing his favourite basketball players, as well as famous actors and musicians such as Hugh Jackman, Bruce Lee, Dave Grohl, Keanu Reeves, Pharrell Williams and Kanye West.
And just in case you think these little works of art are too good to eat - rest assured, they do not go to waste.
