Bangladesh National Women's Cricket Team member and Captain of BKSP Women's Cricket Team Jannatul Ferdous Sumana is currently touring Australia. She will play in the Sydney Cricket team in Sydney and pursue higher training on cricket. She speaks to SBS Bangla about her career and aspiration in cricket.


Miss Jannatul Ferdous says, she was attracted to sports from an early age.

In her view, "Bangladesh Women's Cricket Team is improving day by day. Maybe our Women's Team will win the World Cup soon before the boys."

"Many girls in Bangladesh are coming forward in sports now-a-days . Sports is good for both men and women."

Responding to the question of how helpful the conservative environment like Bangladesh is for girls' sports, Jannat says, "There may be obstacles in some places, but in most cases people's attitudes are more positive than ever."

"Our women cricketers are not far behind in skill than Australian cricketers; but their playing environment and facilities are great," she says.
