Today is a historic day for the Greek community in the Antipodes as after almost 50 years, an Archbishop of the Greek Orthodox Church of Australia attended to a divine at the oldest Orthodox church in the country and the southern hemisphere.


The current Archbishop Mr. Makarios, on the occasion of today's celebration of the Holy Spirit officiated the Divine Liturgy in the church of the Holy Trinity in the suburb of Surry Hills in Sydney.

The church belongs to the Greek Orthodox Community of NSW and under the spiritual authority to the Greek-Orthodo0x Archdiocese of Australia and through it to the Ecumenical Patriarchate.

n his address, Mr. Makarios sent message of love and unity to the leadership of the Community but also to the entire Greek community. His message received  equally warm words from the president of the organization, Mr. Harry Danalis.
