National Cabinet Approves Funds for Premier's Health Care

The Prime Minister has announced more than $2 billion in funding for Medicare which will help increase the number of general practitioners, nurses and pharmacists to provide longer operating hours.

Australians will soon be able to see more general practitioners, nurses and pharmacists after Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced new funding.

In the last meeting before next month's federal budget [[9 May]], State and Territory Leaders met with the Prime Minister to discuss health reform, the National Disability Insurance Scheme and housing.

The National Cabinet approved a proposal to extend funding for after-hours access to primary care programs that is due to expire in June.
