Ethnomusicologist from Monash University, Professor Margaret Kartomi AM and guests from the Engineering Faculty of Gadjah Mada University, Dr Gea Parikesit and Dr Indraswari Kusumaningtyas, talk about the one day cultural symposium called “Making Connections with the Music and Culture of Wonosobo in Java’s Dieng Plateau,” that was held at Monash University on 08 February.


What was the focus of the Making Connections symposium?  Why was the inter-disciplinary nature of the symposium important?  How might the work of engineers aid the musicians of Wonosobo?
