Reog Ponorogo's first appearance in Melbourne

Reog Ponorogo performance, which Indonesia has submitted to UNESCO to become a cultural heritage, will be held by IDN (Indonesian Diaspora Network) Victoria for the first time in Melbourne, at Federation Square on June 29 2024. This cultural event will also showcasing other interesting Indonesian dances and music.


Diana Pratiwi, President of IDN Victoria, explained to SBS Indonesian that the Reog Ponorogo performance was intended as support for Indonesia so that the performing arts could soon be officially recognized by UNESCO as non-material cultural heritage. Apart from that, it is also to share the philosophy and noble values contained in the Reog Ponorogo dance.
