Heart disease is the leading cause of death in Australia. One Australian dies every 12 minutes from cardiovascular disease.

Data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) shows that nearly 13,000 (12,728) people will die from heart disease in Australia in 2021.

According to AustraliaWide First Aid, coronary heart disease has been the leading cause of all deaths for more than half a century.
While warning signs vary from person to person, there are some common signs of a heart attack.

Other symptoms include a choking sensation in the throat, heavy arms, shortness of breath, nausea, cold sweats, and dizziness.
Always call Triple Zero (000) immediately if you think you or someone else may be having a heart attack.
