The benefits of extra-curricular activities on children's physical and emotional growth and development

Elementary school students are usually full of energy and very active. So, students' cognitive and emotional growth and development can be supported by extra-curricular activities. However, supervision and guidance from parents and the school is still needed.


What is actually needed or most important in the education of elementary school children?  And why parents and schools need to encourage students to participate in extra-curricular activities. Indira Ekawati, an employee at the University of Riau who has a daughter in grade 5 of elementary school, shared her experience.
