What is the substance of Australia Day particularly for the migrant community?

Up to now 26 January is regarded as the official Australia Day. Even though for the First Nation it is regarded as invasion or survival day.


These differences of opinion often obscure what we actually need to celebrate or commemorate regarding Australian Day. What is really the substance of Australia? Dr Paul Thomas from Deakin University, Dr Salut Muhidin from Macquarie University and Dr Priyambudi Sulistiyanto from Monash University discussed how best migrant communities celebrate or reflect on Australia Day.
