Why the gender pay gap has narrowed

The gender pay gap is still significant, but it appears to be narrowing.


That's according to the Workplace Gender Equality Agency, which has released its yearly Gender Equality Scorecard.

The agency says the improvement has been driven by higher wages, publication of pay gaps by individual employers... as well as a greater take-up of paid parental leave.
