On Monday, 11 December 2023, the federal government announced several changes to improve Australia's immigration system. It stated that it would halve the number of immigrants over the next two years with the intention of giving priority to Australians for jobs. To achieve this, skilled workers are said to be given priority. SBS Nepali spoke to immigration agent Shambhu Kandel about the key changes the government is set to introduce and the potential impact they may have on those living in and planning to come to Australia.
