Launching as a website and film database back in March of this year, UK's is now expanding to become a streaming service focusing on the stories made for and by queer women.

According to , the organisation's founder, Naomi Bennett, made the announcement at a lesbian arts festival in Wales over the weekend, telling audience members that the streaming service would launch with a range of short films, web series, documentaries and feature films - each featuring characters and story-lines around the experiences of lesbians and bisexual women.

"Whilst I knew that this was an area where I could make a real impact, I’ve been bowled over by the momentum of interest and opportunities, and the number of films available," Bennett said in a statement.
"The film clubs are providing an important social aspect and we are collecting great data to show that there is an audience for these films which hopefully will help lead to more funding in the future."

She added: "I’m looking forward to many more collaborations, partnerships and events as we continue to grow our reach and offering across the UK and into Europe."

Bennett has previously written about her passion for connecting queer audiences with quality queer cinema.
In published in April, she wrote: "Over the years I’ve contributed to multiple crowdfunders, helped distribute films, sponsored smaller film festivals and reviewed hundreds of films on Planet Nation."

"However, I’ve got increasingly fed up when the film hasn’t been released in the UK, or has been pretty inaccessible because it is with some small distributor who isn’t even aware of their audience and isn’t trying to find it."
