Actress Rutina Wesley has announced both her public coming out and her engagement in an Instagram post.
The True Blood star uploaded an inspirational quote about thinking positive, accompanied by photos of her and her girlfriend. The final picture in the series featured a diamond ring on her left hand.
Wesley quoted from Nabokov's Lolita in the post to profess her love for her partner who uses the Instagram handle @chefshonda and is a New Orleans based culinary expert.
The actress is currently starring in Queen Sugar, a drama set in Louisiana that was created by Ava DuVernay and is produced by Oprah Winfrey.
Wesley's Instagram page has been filled with hundreds of comments from ecstatic fans offering their congratulations.
