The Melamchi water supply project in Kathmandu has been inaugurated for the fifth time. This tradition dates back to the time when Prime Minister Sushil Koirala held office, and has persisted through to the current Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal's term. Twelve people lost their lives in a bus accident, as a vehicle traveling from Nepalgunj to Kathmandu plunged off the bridge into the Rapti River. Journalist Sabin Dhamala from Nepal has analysed the main events in Nepal.
