"Is it normal that I teared up reading the words 'a romance starring Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci as a longtime couple on a road trip'?"

Today in things we didn't know we needed, but are glad we're going to get: Stanley Tucci and Colin Firth are set to play a longtime couple in a new road-trip romance, according to .

The film, titled Supernova, is directed by Harry Macqueen and recently wrapped shooting in the UK - meaning we'll likely be blessed with the finished product some time in the new year.

It follows the story of Sam (played by Firth) and Tusker (Tucci), who have been together for 20 years, as they drive across England in their old RV revisiting significant places and relationships from their past. In what promises to make the film a massive tear-jerker, Tucci's character has been diagnosed with early-onset dementia.

According to Variety, Macqueen described the film as "a deeply romantic, modern love story."

“It follows two people who are bound together by their love for each other but being pushed apart by the situation they find themselves in," the writer and director continued.

"It is an intimate, naked portrayal of a relationship facing a fissure that threatens to cut it to its very core.”
Understandably, social media users are feeling incredibly excited about the whole thing.

"God sometimes you're just lucky, you know?" One Twitter user wrote.

She continued: "Sometimes you get to wake up to the news that Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci are in a film playing lovers. Like sometimes good things happen."

Another wrote: "I'm so glad that, now that we are at peak content, people are buying and distributing films specifically and only made for me."

Maybe we can have nice things after all?
